Well I thought I was clear but I guess seems confusin...basically you all know how theres the intake box connected to the manifold itself on the very top of the head, then from there to the left is connect some type of box then from the box comes a little intake look-a-like tube near the battery...well i took every thing off except the very top box connected to the manifold itself(if thats right so far) b.c. i assume since i dont have intake ill have to bolt filter onto that top box from the side, but doesnt seem to fit...

if im not mistaken the "top box" is what the filter is in right? or do you know? just unscrew the top of the top box, the filter should be in there, right? but i still dont understand what you are talking about

It wont fit. even if you put a tube in the spot to make it fit there is no where to mount the tube to. just get an intake of ebay they have the aem replicas any where from $30 to $40. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33621&item=1876786 190

From what I gather this is whats hes trying to do, its like the round peg in the square hole thing ......... he he.
I think hes trying to connect it to the intake pipe that runs from the actual filter box to the resonator, but it wont fit as the pipe is too big / small for the cone filter.

I could be way off on this but this is how I am understanding this so far.

Basically Im doin what im tryin to say...put a filter in, and yes everyone a CONE shaped one...not a stock one...I was thinkin...if you remove the top box cover thats where the original filter is...the cone wont fit there b.c. of the shap and hood wont close plus the filter has a larger opening than the throttle body...and if i try to connect the filter to the side of the top box (filter) itll be basically dual filters like someone said....but that wont work either....i am gettin a CAI jus cant decide wat might be easier to install AEM OR INJEN? Ive heard of some big *** complications and re-arrangement of **** for the INJEN CAI....so im jus askin is it possible to put a cone shaped filter on this 7th gen without an intake?

It is possible. I have a friend that had a small cone filter and he placed it on the throttle body of his HX. I guess you would just have to find one of those filters that are cone shaped (the ones that come to a point at the end) By the way he took his of and got an AEM CAI he didnt like the idea of the sensor hanging on the side. Just get an aem cai they rock

Aiite thanx diable...i think my cones jus too big b.c. i know all filters supp. to be universal but i think ur right i gotta find one of thosethat meet at a point..cus mines like a K&N and seems way too big for the throttle i dont know why b.c. that would make an intake smaller which i know isnt...i think throttle is like what? 3 inches? if im wrong sorri...neways yah im goin for AEM doe looks nice and sounds good....PS: anyone notice that when you are stopped and rev the engine to about 3000 RPM and let clutch go tires always seem to burn out....i know its normal but damn cant civics jus get a grip and zoom to the next light...
