Need Major HELP with CIVIC ASAP!!!!!!

Alright, i was workin on putting a shift boot around my new Echibahn AT shift **** and i was at the part, where you remove the red wire from the automatic transmission, and i didn't realize that the wire just popped out. So instead i cut the red wire from the led bulb. And ever since that my ignition has been on a lock and i can't remove the key from my car. And all because of this from cutting a stupid red wire. I dont know what to do now. All i can do hope that i can order this wire from the dealership and have them install it so i can turn my car off. IF ANYBODY HAS AN IDEA ON WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT PLEASE JUST TELL ME WHATS WRONG

you can't just tie the wire back together using butt connectors

I seriously dont think its the wire that you cut causing the problem.

I did the whole shift boot conversion on my old automatic, maybe i can help.

Looses the set screws on teh shift handle enough that you can very slightly move it up teh shaft a bit at a time.

Listen to your ignition cylinder and listen for a faint click. Thats the solenoid that activates the key lock.

tighten down the set screws as much as possible wihtout stripping the keyway on them.

remove your key.

EDIT: BTW - stop lifting the handle upward as SOON as you hear the click, if you go too far up from that point, you might not be able to shift into 2nd gear manually on the gear tower.

i have already tried to twist the wires back together and that didn't get me anywhere, and yes it is in park. I looked for some connectors at this electronics store, and i didn't have any luck. But tomorrow i will make a trip out to radioshack to find the " cutt connectors " you speak of. I don't know actually if its my wire now. Doesn't the civic have some kind of feature to stop your car from being hotwired. Like maybe if i cut this wire it set some safety measure off. I don't know, i did check my fuses and nothing popped out. So all i can hope is if these butt connectors will work and if not, off to the dealership it will go.

Glad someone appreciates the help i offer here. Its no big deal, i was in your shoes the first time i swapped shifter handles. Only difference was that i realized what i had done wrong. Then after i fixed it, i couldnt get into 2nd! stupid me. Finally figured out where it had to be to work right and left it ever since until teh day i traded in.
