Somethings in the way?

Somethings in the way?
Ok i took off my back seat and the side panels and now i am getting ready to built a box back there. My question is the little bracket that is used to put the rod in that holds the back seats on how do i get that off? Its like electric welded on there and i was just wondering if i should just hammer it off or use some special tool to remove it so i dont damage anything.
