Is this possible?

I like the flip-flop trunk idea.. (yes I searched all those posts...)
But I am interested in a flip-flop trunk that would take the 2 bars we have in thier now, and I want to put the trunk on shocks only.... Kind of like Grey's DIY, only I want to figure a way to get rid of the support bars for the trunk (they are going to be a pain with my sub box.
Anyone seen it done, or have any ideas on how I should go about it...
(sorry if this is a double post, I looked but didnt see anything taking this aproach to it.)

Project2k2 is on a distinguished road
You can always make a sub box to go around it? But if you really want to take them off your going to need to know how you are going to set it up, I don't think it would be to easy to set up the truck with just springs, and have a flip flop trunk at the same time. Sorry I can't be of much help but dude, anything is possible with money.

You could fabricate some hinges or one hinge to mount right below the third brake light. Then mount the trunk shocks so they would hold the trunk open but like 4drcivic2k1 said, it will take some cash and time to make it happen.

Hmm....
oh well, looks like I am going to have to fabricate all new trunk mounts =(
I really dont want to cut holes out of my setup for the hinges (even though the box would still be intact)...
oh well here goes nothing...
thanks guys
