Ok, so my brother bought me an Avital Keyless entry with Remote start for my Civic LX (no keyless entry) and I am going to install it myself. I was an installer for Circuit City, but only worked there for 4-5 months and they only had me install radios, I never learned to do remote starts or keyless entry. I plan on taking digital pictures and doing a D I Y keyless entry / remote start guide if you guys can help me =)

I'm going to list what I think I need to do, and hopefully you guys can fill in the blanks/correct me. When I type <-> it means what I think it should be connected to. When I type things in quotes it is from the Avital install guide. I found the Honda wire guide in DIY section.

Primary Harness wire guide

1. Orange (-) ground-when-armed output <-> ?? Does this connect to a simple ground underdash?
2. White (+/-) selectable light flash output "This wire should be connected to the (+) parking light wire." <-> Underhood Red/Yellow (+) Honda Parking Light
3. White/Blue (-) remote start activation input "Sending a negative pulse to this wire will initiate the remote start sequence. This wire can be wired to an optional momentary switch to activate the remote start." <-> ?? What do I do with this?
4. Black/White (-) 200 mA domelight supervision output "Connect this wire to te optional domelight supervision relay." <-> I'm guessing because it is an optional accessory, I do not need this one either?
5. No function

7. No function
8. Black (-) chassis ground connection <-> find a factory bolt and ground connections under bolt with ring connector
9. Yellow (+) ignition output to RF system "As a stand alone system, yellow should not be connected to anything." <-> Connect to nothing.
10. Brown (-) horn honk output <-> Orange wire in steering column, Honda Horn Harness Orange (-)
11. Red (+) 12V constant <-> White, Honda Constant
12. Red/White Channel 2, (-) 200 mA output (trunk or other relay type) <-> nothing for now, need to buy trunk release accessory from HandaAccessories

1. Red (2) (+) 12V input for relays <-> These are two red wires with fuses in them... what do I wire these to?
2. Pink (+) Ignition output <-> Black/Yellow Honda Ignition Wire

4. Purple (+) starter output <-> Black/White Honda Starter wire
5. Pink/White (+) second ignition <-> Black/Red Honda second ignition

1. Blue, status/factory rearm output "This wire supplies 200 mA as soon as the module begins remote start. It can also be used to rearm a factory anti-theft system when remote start shuts down." <-> ?? Do I need this?
2. Blue/Black option 3rd ignition output <-> No connection, no 3rd ignition for Honda
3. Gray (-) Hood pinswitch input <-> hood pin
4. Brown (+) brake switch input <-> White/black (+) Honda brake light above pedal
5. Violet/white tachometer input <-> Not listed in Honda DIY, anyone know?
6. Black/white neutral safety switch input <-> L Green (-) Honda Neutral Safety under dash fuse box

1. Green (lock output) <-> Yellow/Black Honda Door Lock !! Notes in DIY talks about option driver side (DR) and passenger side (PS), as well as rear doors. Says Diode isolation needed. Do I need to mess with any of this in my two door LX? My Avital manual says Honda typically have a negative pulse system installed, I am not sure if it is the DL1 Negative System as the DIY notes say.
2. Blue (unlock output) <-> Yellow Honda Unlock wire... please see note above

And do I need to buy a DEI PK-3 immobilizer part (dei 555U, or dei 555F) so the remote start works? Or should I spend $40 and buy this: Linky

Instant message me on AIM to the same screen name as here, I have installed several remote start/ keyless entry/ alarm systems over the past few years. Civic was BY FAR the easiest to install, cept for that dan transponder box, teh ignition cylinder is way too sensitive in my opinion. (starter would be a 50 - 50 even with a REAL KEY right up next to the coil....) ANyways, like i said, IM me on AIM.
