im goin to be stripping all the interior outa my ex coupe on monday to start installing my stereo equipment. i just wanted to know if there was anything special that has to be done to remove the seats besides just taking out the bolts on the sliders? i dont have side airbags.
thats it, just make sure before you yank them out to disconect any wires underneath you seats.
I was gonna post the same thing last night but didn't have time. . . so there's just bolts on the brackets that you gotta remove? I have a DX so I'm guessing that there's less wires and junk under there.
I didnt' have to remove any seats when I did my ICE install. I ran virtually all of the wires under the plastic sides of the car. After you remove your console and center dash to install the radio, run your RCA jacks, remote wire, power wire and remote gain controll if you have it, under the dash to the side of the car. Pull on the panels and they will come up. for the rear seat there is a bolt in the middle where the two seatbelt latches are together, it a 10mm, take it out and remove the rear seat (the part your azz is on). Run the wires up the side of the seat, under it, and under the carpet in the trunk to your amp mounting point. Much easier than remoing seats, or are you installing something that will require the seats to be moved?
You should not have to remove any of the seats to install stereo equiptment, UNLESS you are putting something under the front seats or you are putting speakers in the rear dash. If you are putting new rear speakers in, you have to take out the back seats, back side panels, and back dash. Be careful too because not many speakers fit back there without hitting the trunk springs.
im guessing to run wires. nothing special just take your time and watch the wires if you have them
