AEM bypass valve
I installed my bypass valve a couple of inches from where the upper tube bends down to the throttle body. The foam part of the valve hits a hood support, but doesnt put a whole lot of weight on the valve itself. Will this affect the valve's effectiveness?

He is where I installed mine. They say it should be as close to the throttle body as possible.

You cut the pipe there? You do know that those are the 2 C.A.R.B stickers that makes your intake legal right? If you ever get pulled by a cop and he checks your intake, you need those stickers or else you will get a ticket.
Also you are supposed to have 1-2 inches of clearance all the way around the valve. Nothing should touch it.

the AEM guy doesnt think the clearance will be an issue, it will just scuff up the foam filter but not affect the valves performance. and i live in nebraska, the land where cops dont check performance parts or emissions. hell i could get a custom exhaust made and run it without cats if i wanted to

I live in SC and we don't have emissions tests here either. but we have quite frequent engine checks when getting pulled by cops.

I would get it.
Think about it...a $50 product can save your $700 engine (yes, our engines are cheap).
Good investment eh..... and you'll have peace in mind while driving in the rain.

Like FlyRice said i have seen several engines svaed by it and look at it this way its only 50 bucks compaired to the heartache that COULD happen but why take a chance like that just buy the thing
I am definately getting one. I had a shitty experience today. I'm from NH and we got mad rain today. Anyways, I was driving down the road and this lake of a puddle was covering the entire road. There was no way around it and I didn't see it until the last second. Just enough time to let off the gas. I got through it ok but it bogged like crazy for a little bit. My next day off of work I'm taking a trip to my shop for the part. I highly recommend it.

what exactly do you have to do to place the bypass valve on the intake? you dont have to "cut" anything do you? i wanna know cause im thinkin about investing into one at this point.
