Any tips on removing center trim piece

Any Tis on removing center trim piece

I'm tryin to pain my center trim piece and i cant get the thing out for anything. I have searched and looked at all the DIY's that deal with removing it nothing seems to work. Thanks

Remove the bottom piece (where the cig lighter sits)

Now look inside..... look up and you will see 2 bolts (8 or 10mm)

Remove those .....

Now stick your hand in there (behind the bar) and push it up with force.

If that fails, you can try to pop the center piece by prying it all around with a small flat head screwdriver.

I have tried those and i bent the bracket trying to pop it out. Oh well I'll figure somethign out. Thanks
