gas mileage gone south - any ideas?

Happy Thanksgiven everyone

2001 EX 5 Speed...10, 500 miles. Bought new ...averaged between 32mpg - 38 mpg when I bought it last year. Over the last 6 months the mpg has been dropping I filled it up today and it was 22.4 mpg city driving. I changed the air filter (used a factory OEM filter) before the fill up and I changed the oil using
5W-20. I also added Chevron's Techtron fuel injector cleaner. Could the cold (it's been averaging around 30F lately) be causing this The car is still under a full warrantee. Has anyone else run into this? Should I take it to the dealership and tell them I think it needs help?

Thanks,

silverfox

Check tire pressure. That acually makes a difference in gass mileage. Are you driving it any different??

i think wen i use my Air condition weather it be to cool or warm the cabin that effects the gas mileage. i remember most of the spring i did not have to use the Air conditining at all and i got the best mileage since ive owned my car. now that its winter i have the heat on full blast as soon as the car is on. and probbaly like halfblast once its warm.
kills my MPG

i dun think u know what ur talking about...sorry (trying not to be harsh)
that wouldnt make sense IMO because the heater is drawing heat from your engine and into the cabin. the only thing that would drain your engine from making the same power as before, would be a fan. but as far as heat...when you bring your car to the track and go once, ur supposed to open ur hood and have the heater on full blast to cool the engine down faster before your next run. thus heater comes from your engine "hotness."

Uh Yeah........
a electric fan and heater that gets the heat coming off a engine "via a heater core" will not compremise fuel milage.

AznThug08 has probably the best answer to your problem, because tire pressure is very important when it come to fuel milage. A drop you discribe in milage is more than normal, and I don't think your "whole" problem with MPG is just from tire pressure. You said you are using 5w-20 oil; and thats good, but also how you drive makes a big difference.

I get on a average around 33MPG, and thats driving with the same style car you have (02EX 5spd no mods). I very rarely, and I mean rarely, run my engine over 4000rpm, so thats probably why I'm getting my good milage. I have 11,500 miles on my car to this date and I check my tire pressure once a month; 30psi all around.

I live in Florida but I have noticed that my tire PSI is down about 1˝lbs. every month on each tire.

My car has always gotten back gas mileage. Bone stock in the summer I would get 24 MPG. Now in the Winter with mods I get like 22 MPG. I use the heat a lil bit though. I keep my tires properly inflated at 35 psi, and don't drive like a maniac constantly. Don't bother bringing it to the dealership. Well maybe you should, but it's probably useless. I've been there twice about the gas mileage problem. All they said they could do is check the O2 sensors, which were fine, so problem was never resolved.
