removing door edge guards?

Does anyone know how I can take them off without scratching or chipping the paint? I looked and it seems that they are held in with glue on the back side.

Sedan. they're the plastic things that go on the door edge to protect the paint. They look ugly though.

I'm not talking about the side moulding. I'm talking about the strips that go on the edges of the door to protect the paint. They stick out and mine are put on crooked so there are some spaces inbetween. Wax also is stuck inside. They come as dealer options with the mudflaps as part of the safety package. It's not the side moulding.

The silver plastics which run along the edge of the doors are what GearBox is refering to. I think they are pretty useful (I get used to them already and don't feel ugly:_doh because those protected my door one time when my friend bend my door at a Volvo in a parking lot.

yeah, i like 'em. i might have overdone them, but oh well. when i put em on, they just had this glue stuff inside though. i would guess you just peel them off slowly. if they are already peeling, it's easier. acetone (aka nail polish remover) should be safe to remove the excess gunk, or use goof off or turpentine, whatever you got.
