Removed intake resonator...no sound difference.

I've just removed my air intake resonator and drove around for a few hours. There was absolutely no difference in the sound level and absolutely no difference in power. There's really no use in removing the intake resonator....in fact, I don't know why Honda put it in there in the first place if there is no difference without it. Maybe I haven't driven around long enough for the ECU to reset itself to cater for the new "air flow"? Any comments?

Did you accelerate hard? Under normal driving most intakes are no louder than normal anyway, at least in the SI I drove with a CAI it wasn't. It's when you step on it that it growls.

Now the resonator in our cars? I don't know, but I would imagine if you stepped on it, gave it some gas, you'll get some kind of sound.

i had mine off for about 1 week - the 2nd day of driving the rpms seem to climb a little more normal and adjust to the extra air flow, but when u go WOT u definently hear a new sound

it is on there for economy reasons. If you leave it off you will notice crappy gas mileage and slight loss of torque. The sound doesnt chang unless you are at full throtle.

OK Maybe there was a deep growl...but only at about 2000-2500rpms in 2nd/3rd gear. And also maybe at 4000rpms. But its nothing special. The car still sounds **** weak.
