Rep Power: 0 The VR6 is the best VW engine to fix up (all other VW brands not included ie Audi, Lambo etc). The only problem is that it is very expensive to do it. I know this becuase my friend has a 1.8T jetta and he knows his veedubs. People get 1.8Ts because they are cheaper faster (stock) and cheaper to make fast. But the VR6 has a lot more potential turbo wise. If you have the money to do it, go for the VR6.

Rep Power: 0 ya the 1.8 is nice to fix up cause it is cheep to fix up, to a certain point. You can realistically get over 200 hp from it with a chip and exhaust. Pretty nice package, but our 2k1's with a turbo will beat them due to less weight and the hp increase.
Now the VR6's are very nice, but more dinero. This means if you have a problem with them for whatever reason they are very expensive and hard to work on. My buddy has one and was about to get a supercharger for his, but found out that he would have to get a butt load of other parts to make it run properly. That $3k superchager turns into $4k with extra parts needed, then you have to install it. Tuning a VR6 is more prone to engine probs versus a 1.8. If you have the money go for it, otherwise it might be beneficial to keep the civic.

Rep Power: 0 The SEAT Leon Cupra R is a beast, the 1.8T in that thing has insanely high output. And I don't think a turboed Civic could beat a 1.8T GTi with a few mods, the 1.8T engine was designed to be turboed and with a chip and exhaust those things can be damnably fast.
As for the VR6 engine, I hear its damn torque-filled. I'd like to get my hands on a W12 though, heh.

Rep Power: 0 Just leave the civic stock and take hold of the VR6 when you can. Do a few mods and keep it clean. Just my 2cents. Both cars are not the most ideal for tuning, but at least the VW's worth more and the leather interior will definately be nice.

Rep Power: 0 Vr6's can be quite fast and they can be turbo, you can put the tt turbo on there k04 and there is also a vr6 over here that has 2 vr6s in his car that are both turbo insane! As for the prelude comment wtf? A GTI VR6 absolutely rips a prelude my 3 friends race all the time 99 gti vr6 vs 99 prelude base vs 2003 gti vr6 and the 2k3 rips both by 2 1/2 cars 1/4 length.
