if this hasn't been beaten to death multiple times. WOW, i just don't feel like typing. use the search function. nothing will give you any realy noticeable gains unless you spray, turbo, and supercharge with the new JC supercharger.. i'm kidding about the JC SC. all noobs seem to want one. haha

well the exhaust won't do crap for you, it's still limited to the smallest pipe, which is your entire mid section. the intake makes a nice sound though. i'd go with an injen CAI if i were you. or, just save your money, and sell your car, then go buy anything else.

anything else

If you want to see some noticable power be prepared to spend maybe 2k on up. Even nitrous costs this much because of extras (clutch, gauges, etc..)

not sure about axle back but cat back exausts genraly give like 4 or 5 WHP where intakes give about 9 or 10 WHP CAI and SRI give the same power output. by the way you can get a short ram from Zero1racing at speedpeople.com for $59 to your door. Don't listen to the people telling you to buy a new car, just do your thing. Remember any car can be fast with enough work

It's true that our cars dont have variety of aftermarket parts that other civics do because of it's relatively recent release. But you're more ignorant than anyone else if you think that time is the only factor. You're totally disregarding the fact that our engine is completely different from older generation Civics. Does that means it's not upgradable/tunable...of course not, but it can make it about a 100 times harder to get the same gains when you're dealing with a current engine that has been optimized for it's entire system.

As for the people that say to buy another car. I can understand that maybe they're not in love with their civic like you are, but they are also valid in showing that our car does not have the power that many other cars do. But people buy them anyway for a number of reasons, be it great gas mileage or low price. For people that think that you could pour in gobs and gobs of money to make your Civic a speed demon. That same total amount can be used on another car that will still beat your civic...like a WRX or an ITR.

As for the original question at hand about an Exhaust vs. Intake. I agree with LiquidBlue that the intake will more likely give you higher gains. An exhaust will probably give you at most 5hp, but to take advantage of all of the exhaust's potential, you'd have to upgrade other parts like headers. As for the intake, it depends on whether you have a Manual or Auto. If you have an Auto, you're more likely better off with an SRI (you can get a new AEM one for $86-95). If you have a Manual, then you're better off with a CAI. However, even with a CAI, you wont see the 10WHP that CrazyCakes claimed. Based off of AEM's Dyno Results for their CAI, if you have an EX, you'll see a max gain of 8.9HP and that's all the way at 6500rpm. However, if you have a DX or LX, you're looking more at 5.3HP at 4750rpm. Hope that helps you.

Also, you may want to search, because I'm positive it's been asked before and there are many knowledgeable people on this forum, so you'll learn a lot to make the decision that's best for you. Good luck.
