Is that IAT Sensor Trick safe?
Are those Intake air temp sensor mods really safe to do, Ive done them on several of my friends cars but i haven't done it on mine yet. I wanted to know if they are really safe to do. All it does is tells the engine its getting cold air all the time and also makes it run rich.
Any negative aspects of this mod?
You really do notice a hp increase.

I did it to my car for like 10 min, i noticed plenty of difference but i decided to wait till i broke my car in some more...
Ok i asked my friends and they say it idels funny (only at first) and the engine light comes on.
My car ideled funny for about 5 sec then went to normal and the engine light was not on. should notice a difference in hp 5-15
I think your gas mileage goes down slighty also.
My question was really if anyone has this mod on their car daily and what that know about it.

Well to be honest, i sell the instructions and the "hardware" on ebay.
To do it costs about a dollar, hah. Email me if your really interested i dont want to post how to do it yet.
Usually the only time id use it is when i wanted to attempt to race someone, it increases your timing and ive read you gain a second and a half(aprox) on a qtr mile time.
Im still waiting to breakin my car till i mod it.

Ok theres a RESISTOR, that "modifies"(not really) the intake sensor and it Tricks the engine to think its getting cold air all the time. It also makes the car run rich. Supposibly you can get up to 20 hp gain. id say 5-10 i didn't drive long with it on. But as soon as my car is broken in ill test it more. And i think im going to put up a DYI. Its great for running 1/4 times will get you like a second less.

diy for u:
go to fry's and by a resistor (looks like a paper clip and cost like ~ 0.40)
as u get to ur car in the parking lot....pop ur hood...on the right of the stock air box (where ur filter is located..if u have an intake i dont know what to tell u) there is a sensor...u pull that off and u bend the resistor in a "U" shape and u stick it in the slots (not the sensor on the air box but the plug u just pulled..should be 2 prong) and make sure it sticks. close ur hood and rooooolllllll
takes like 30 seconds to install. I actually tried it on my car and i didn't notice n e thing

Its VERY easy, all you do is go to radio shack buy a 4.7k-ohm ressiter 1/2 watt 5% tolerance (come in a pk of 5 for 99 cents)
Then you take your intake sensor out, its the plug thats plugged into the resonator on the right side. you take that out and you bend the resistor to a U-shape and stick one end in the plug and the other end of the resistor to the other hole in the plug. If you look at it you will know what im talking about. Its very easy to undo u just pull it out... You will notice a funny idle at first but otherwise its good.
leave the plug off and tie it to something....If you want to leave it off seal the plug with tape....I dont think i recommed using this for long trips.
