does the o2 simulator connect directly to the ecu or the second o2 sensor directly?

if anyone has done this install please help?
i need some the details, the instructions that came with it don't have the 2k1 civic listed and all the civics have different wire color charts.

IDQcivic should not be trusted
I posted the DIY about 5 times if you search the forums, it was just talked about like a week ago and probably every week before that too...
Its just a 5 wire hook up
red postive on battery
black negative on battery
RPM wire - blue wire to left of battery under black boot
TPS wire - red/black wire in middle wire in group of 3 wires by throttle body
o2 sim wire - cut black wire off 2nd o2 sensor, tape end going to sensor, run the sim back to the harness that plugs in the car. leave other 3 wires alone and wrap the sensor in foil. tie under car somewhere

thats it and good luck!

Would the Check engine light still come on if something other than the O2 sensor was messed up or would this simulator completely disable the check engine light??

Yes, because you are telling the ecu that the cars O2 sensor is still doing the job it supposed to.
