oil pressure guage

i am considering buying a vaccume guage, and an oil pressure guage....for the simple reason of looks.....but anyhow, i can figure out how and where to hook up the vaccume guage, but where would i tap into for the oil pressure guage? in case it matters, the oil pressure guage has an eletric sender unit...

mark

edit:

go here

illus # 12, the oil pressure switch....is this an on/off switch? or does it have a varrying output, similar to a sender unit? does the ecu monitor actually oil pressure? or does it just monitor whetere there is appropriate pressure or not...

when a car does not have any means of forced induction, the engine is constantly under vaccume.....you can use a vaccume guage just like you use a boost guage, as the load of the engine increases the vaccume will increase.....in order to hook it up, you simply need to T into a vaccume line

im not exactly sure exactly where i will tap the guage into yet...there are lots of vaccume lines...well, there might not be w/ our engines..but im sure i could find one...i think you might even be able to tap into the connection from the top of the valve cover (the breather pipe that connects the air intake to the top of the valve cover)

Where the oil pressure switch is you should be able to install a t-fitting so you can have a spot to screw in your electrical sender. If you goto an auto parts store they should have a hydralic t-fitting that will fit. The oil pressure switch is right above the oil filter. I'm not sure what size it is. What we really need is someone who has installed an oil pressure gauge! Anybody, anybody....

Look just behind your intake manifold, you should see a black vacuum line, about as thick as a pencil. T into this one for your vacuum gauge.

Autometer already has gauge pillar pods avaliable for 7th gen civic coupes only. They are avaliable to purchase from any autometer dealer. The sedans however are quite a few months behind production since autometer had overlooked teh difference in teh structur between teh coupe and sedan. but theres no reason to worry because sedan pillar pods will be out soon, along with the dash bezel pods.

sleeper civic has it correct. Buy a T fitting (not sure if it is special, but the del sol's was very very hard to find) and you can tap into the oil pressure switch fitting. Secondly, someone used to make an adapter that fit into the oil filter threads and allowed an oil pressure sender to be tapped in.....
