I did some research on this topic before. I was planning to do the same thing until I got on the phone with some acura dealerships in canada. The prices were insane not to mention there charges for shipping into the US. You can go to acuracanada.com. I also called up one of the dealerships in quebec..they quoted me $500.00 for the trunk lid (Primed) then the four piece tail lights are sold seperately (price killer) the outter lamps are $129.00 each and the inner tail lights were $178.00. Now I also measured the outter tail lamps to see if there the same size as the us lamps. (there the same but it will not sit in flush with the EL inner lights.) Now the dealership also quoted me the shipping charges, from quebec to New york city. shipping= $250.00 2-5 business days to receive.
so do the math $1,364.00 just for the parts we're not even talking about labor to install the sucker...it's going to take me at least a year for my swap....but bottomline that rear end looks hot
so good luck man, hope your ready to max out your credit card lol

I will pm you the dealership numbers later on today or tomorrow

do some research on which dealership in canada is closer to the west coast. I think british columbia is the closet to cali. check dealerships around there maybe the shipping charges may differ to you. jdm does cost alot not to mention some custom work has to be done to get that clean fit. and I would probably believe that the same will go with the EL trunk lid. I've ever thought about driving up there with my pick up and getting it myself but I would only save about $300.00 which is cool but i would like to strike a better deal else, but i'm still looking around, i'll keep you posted if i find everwhere cheaper

I just drove across the border for my canadian parts made the trip in a day

the outer trunk lights should be identical to the us civic sedan trunk lights.

you should be able to get a body colored trunk lid to match your us sedan. i think the colors for the el are almost the same as the us civic colors.

my advice would be to contact a few different dealers and compare prices, then call the closest dealer over the border and talk them down as far as you think you can. then take a road trip and come back with a new trunk

what color is you car?

yeah that would be a cool conversion tho! super custom! peeps will be thinkin its an accord or something! i was considering doing the front end swap but then i said fuq dat

Why do you guys get the parts in Canada?? Do they have different stuff than we do?? If so, like what? Because I live just accross the border in the D.

..yeah.....i know.....the EL just look so sexy....

if u guys really want to get the conversion cheap, maybe u guys can try to find the parts in some junk yard in canada......if u live close to canada, that might save u guys lot of money on parts. and u may also find the same colour of trunk as ur civics.......and i think the parts for EL make in Toronto....don't know if it will be cheaper to order in Toronto.....

just one thing to remind u guys, there is no key hole on the EL trunk lid, coz all the EL come with trunk release... so u guys might need to some work about it.

good luck with all ur civics!
