20 K Service??
I just hit 20 K mile like last week and was wordering is there anything special the dealer does that needs to be done at 20 K or can I just do my own oil change and rotate the tires by myself If I really have to it will get the service for 20 K if not it can wait til 30 K I guess. Any replies will be helpful thanx
I am at 28k and have received two maintence req'd lights already but I'm just too lazy to go to the dealer. I reset the light and I normally change my own oil. No problems so far. I do know its probably brings down my trade in value but oh well. I'd also like to know what services are actually done when you're suppose take in your car.

if i remember correctly, at 20k they change your fluids and do the 24 point test along with the rotating of the tires. i can't remember for sure so don't quote me. i am getting ready to go in for my 25k check up though and i'd be happy to tell you what all they did this time around though

To quote my dealership, "there is no 20K service.....there is a 22500 service, that includes oil change, tire rotation, and brake service (they FINALY made my parking brake tight!)." They also found I had a leaky strut and replaced it.
Straight out of the manual for severe conditions...
A Replace engine oil and filter
B Inspect front and rear brakes
Rotate tires
Lubricate all hinges, locks, and latches with multipurpose grease
Inspect tie rod ends, steering gear box and boots
Inspect suspension components
Inspect driveshaft boots
C Check parking brake adjustment
Inspect brake hoses and lines (including ABS)
Check all fluid levels, condition of fluids, and check for leaks
Inspect cooling system hoses and connections
*INspect exhaust system
*Inspect fuel lines and connections
Check all lights
Inspect the underbody
Here's what honda should do anyway when you pay for an oil change...
