Piggyback on the OBDIII
OBDII ecu's have a flash memory to allow for a dynamic fuel map by learning and adjusting. That is why almost all hardcore pre-7genners convert back to OBDI so that their piggyback fuel settings are not overwritten. Yes it does happen. Ask a guy with OBDII and a fuel manangment computer to dyno his car a few weeks after he tunes it on a dyno and watch his fuel settings get over slightly over-written.......back towards stock. Now, the question is for us OBDIII users, there is no converting to OBDI which means we're kinda stuck with an ECU that doesn't like to be tuned. In fact, this ecu is even more **** than the previous OBDII. Other than a stand alone, is there any solution to this problem?
