Aem bypass valve question
Will AEM bypass valve fit on any intake even no name brand intakes i.e. aem replicas? Will an intake be able to withstand a canadian winter with hydrolock without a bypass valve? This has been discusted before but only with the Injen CAI so I thought the diameter of the pipe might be different or something like that. Thanks in advance.
FOr an CAI in winter....In my mind for winter...first we don't take our car cause their too low!

In order for the bypass valve to work, you must have submerged your entire air filter within water. Even if slush gets in the pipe, I don't think the valve will work.
Think of it this way. Take off the filter and completely seal it off (ie. no air going in or out). This is when the bypass valve will work because no air is coming from the end of the pipe. The value has a filter in order to allow air to follow into the pipe at the point where the valve is at. You'll get air, but not that much, just enough to not stall your engine.
IMO, don't bother putting back the stock air filter and parts. Just take off the extension of the CAI and turn it into a SRI.
I don't plan on doing that till we get a lot of snow. I have an InJen and its nicely concealed to morther nature.
