help got big problems

i am trying to put on this unorthodox crank pully and my stock one will not come off. i have used a impact gun and a 6 foot breaker bar and i torched the hell out of it and used penetrating oils ( get ur mind out of the gutter) haha but nothing will budge the bolt. so i decided to drill out the bolt and just take off the head of the bolt but man that thing is made out of some serious metal ,this concrete hard core drill my dads got didnt put a scratch on it . the bolt must have like welded its self to my crank shaft. i think i am facked i dont know what to do next no one at any dealers knows either. any ideas?? i have a glitch in my jet ecu i think and every one ina while i miss 4th gear and take it to 9k or 10 k rpms i am thinking i might have spunn it or heated it up to much and melted it

Well dude, if a 6 foot breaker bar and lot's of force didn't budge it then I think you're about sol. I could break the torque on hells gates with a 6 foot breaker bar.

No if you read his earlier threads he has a 7th gen. But yes, his claims don't seem very legit.

i dont think that guy knows what gen he has. he has to have a sixth gen... and taking a car up to 9k-10k... im not aware of 6th gen or 7th gen civic motor doing that no matter what u have done to it.

I'm not sure but I believe the bolt you're trying to remove has a reversed thread, try going the opposite direction and see what happens.

ok .. i said this before, but i'll say this again. get a crank pulley holder. they are a GOD SEND! $62+ shipping from snapon, but well worth it IMO.

those bolts are notorious for not coming off, almost as bad as axel nuts. they are torqued to 136ft/lb on a b series motor. DO NOT drill out that bolt, you will get yourself into more trouble than it's worth. if you can't take it off w/ a 600ft/lb impact wrench or a breaker bar w/ a 6ft cheater bar, imagine trying to get the rest of the bolt out with an ez-out.

with the crank pulley holder and the breaker bar, i guarantee that you will get it off. may snap the breaker bar, but it WILL come off.

also when you put it back on, make sure that you torque it to spec, good and tight is not good enough. and don't loose the little shim that locks the pulley into place on the crank, it's tiny, and very easy to misplace.

try putting the car in 5th, having a friend stepping on the brakes, and go back at it with the breaker bar.
