RSX parts in the Civic???

i was at the dealer the other day, and i was asking him about putting on aftermarket parts, specifically brakes, and also about what brakes the RSX had. anyways, he told me that the acura brakes were much better quality than the honda ones (thats a no brainer right there), and that i should go to acura and ask them cause he didnt know for sure what brand they were. anyways, he made it sound like the acura brakes would fit on the civic (he said that he used to be an acura mechanic).
so this got me wondering if i could swap the RSX-S front brake rotors and pads (maybe even the calipers) into the civic. are they compatible?? im not sure if the RSX has 4 or 5 lugs on the wheels. but that could be a definate improvement if i could do that.
i was also wondering about the springs and shocks on the RSX-S, would those fit on the civic also?
the reason im so drawn to keeping the mods OEM is because im leasing, and if i can sub in acura parts, honda might still honor my warrantees, since acura is honda. so im just wondering if all of this is feasible. anyone know???

RSX has 5 lug wheels. Otherwise I'm sure we'd all be looking for those rims too....

i heard the springs would fit. whether it would actually be wise to use it is a different question. not sure if the struts are an exact fit either. but ya the rsx and civic is similar in some ways..

If you want to upgrade your stopping power check out "GroupBuyCenter.com" and search under brakes. They have Brembo cross drilled and slotted rotors for 7th gen's for 50.00 each which is a steal and you can get a combo with AEM pads/rotors and im pretty sure they have an AEM Big Brake Kit if you have 17" + rims.
Check it out...they have a lot of great deals on anything you'll need.

well if you WANT to keep it so they can take it back after the LEASE is over just leave your stock discs in the garage and put on some new ones from brembo. When you go to give it back VIOLA they have new discs AGAIN LOL!

Those are machined Brembo blanks. The real Brembos are about $170 a pair. I know you can get the real ones Here and I think TornActive has some too.

The brakees should fit without troubles..they mount up the same. Just find a suitable disc with a 4x100 lug pattern..this should be really easy. Don't use the Acura disc (raybestos) get a brembo or wilwood..

Yes they are blanks that have been CNC'd but they are just as durable because anyone with a CNC machine can cross drill and slot a set of rotors...Just because brembo does it doesn't mean it's worth 50 bux more...if you wanted just blanks they are 30 each...

Blanks are rotors that have not been machined (ie: Drilled/Slotted) they are smooth like your stock rotors.

oooooooh...thanks. i saw a bunch of drilled and slottld brembo rotors for sale on GBC. a couple of them look kinda ghetto tho...like the holes dont seem to go all the way through...and they kinda look like they were drilled in someones basement. dunno....

coximpoorts seems like a good place tho, thats where i saw the brembos initially. i gotta say tho, the GT setup is awesome...if i had $3000 id get those. lol

Well the "holes" that don't go through all the way is called "dimple" drilled, it is the same concept as cross drilling and it will disipate the heat and gases just as well but is more sturdy and prevents your rotors from cracking...yes some are ghetto...you would want to ask if they are brembo blanks..sometimes they use other brands...
