Taking car in for Tranny bushing problem, leave Injen on or off?

I know it has nothing to do with the transmission or bushings, but I've never had my car up there for anything under the hood but an oil change. SO I have no idea what to expect. Can I leave my CAI on? Or should I spend 2 hours pulling it out and putting the stock box on? It's an Injen, so it doesn't go anywhere near the transmission.

Well, I went my dealership yesterday for an oill change. I started to talk with one of the salesperson and asked if my InJen CAI would void my warranty?
Hey kinda laughed and said "Just make sure we don't know about it." WTF?!?! You guys have an aftermarket parts section in your dealership!!!!
I'd say, put the stock back so you don't have to take an b/s from the shop advisors. It might be worth the two hours.

Id leave it in just so I could argue with them if someone tried to talk some BS about the intake causing problems. " I thought you were supposed to know about cars, but you don't even know that an intake has nothing to do with this defective transmission...."

Oh by the way I just got a call from my dealership saying that my bushings are in. So I am going to leave it in and see what happens.

I also know of someone who had the popping out of 2nd gear problem too, but not only did he get his bushings replaced, but he got like 1500 worth of work done to the transmission too! maybe this is what I should be after too!

Another question, where are these bushings? They are under the hood right? not in the car, under the console? Because if they're under the console, I'm gonna have to take out the shift ****/boot too. Not because of warranty, but because of the way it is installed, and what it takes to get it off.

You're right, these bushings are not the same as the kumosport bushings . They are installed under the hood and not under the center console.

Are the replacement of these bushings for some new bulletin out or something? Does this only apply to Manuals or Autos too? Thanx.

The bushings are on a Service Bulletin. It's for 5 Speeds. Apparently 2k1s have the problem, but Mine is a 2k2 and has the same symptoms.

I have this issue too....what Service bullitin? on this site? Hell I'm gunna go get the shiet fixed now! I got the issue after driving around in San Fransico and thought that I inflicted the damage myself, but I've been driving a stick for years and never had a transmission issue...

Is there a recall or anything posted by Honda?

I got my tranny fixed two timesbecause the first time I got my car After 3thousand miles I started to beat the pi$$ out of it. Then I noticed my second gear didnt want to go in. So a coulpe days later I had to get it replaced. Then like Two weeks ago I had it repaired again and I took evry mod out and drove to HONDA with my bone stock Civ. My third gear didnt want to go in. SO when I got their they did an inspection on my car to see if I have did anything with my tranny. But its better not to go to HONDA with your mods on because it saves the hassle.

In my city, the Honda dealerships have really gotten into selling aftermarket performance parts so they can't really be hipocritical and say "you shouldn't put that stuff on your car"

In fact I purchased my intake through a honda dealership.

Off, stock is better. The only way I'd take it in with the intake on it is if Honda installed it themselves.
