you have to cut a piece in the pipe for it to fit relatively close to the tb.

bypass valves are a waste of time because they only activate when the pressure in the intake tube changes, which happens only when you sit in a puddle and the filter is submerged. and because time = money, its a waste of money.

what if the water is muddy and you cant tell how deep it is? or you dont even see the puddle?

well the higher you mount the bypass valve the deeper the puddle you can survive...

i dont know about you but most drivers are a little more cautious in inclement weather. do you drive through lakes for kicks?

Yes you can put it at the joint, I did that with my first intake. It works just as well and you only have to cut the pipe once as opposed to twice, but if I were you I wouldn't put it in. It negates the purpose of the CAI. I had one intake with the bypass in it at first and now I have one without it sounds better without one and you save yourself 50 bucks. I live in Indiana where it rains a lot and I haven't had any trouble. As for getting it to fit at the joint if you want to do it there I can tell you how to do it, but I'm not gonna write it all out here so email me and I'll email you the instructions. i live in Newfoundland we get alot of rain and i am driving my car in the winter!!!! i have heard off two cars that have cold air intake that are water locked in the past 2 months!!! i have already purchased the bypass valve, i want to play it safe!!! i am going to go and install it on that join!!!!!!!![IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-cool.gif[/IMG]
