paint on bolts in engine bay?

paint on bolts in engine bay?
I've been wondering what the painted bolts are for? I would imagine its so when you take a wrench to it it chips off and then the dealer can tell if the engines been goofed with?

I dunno...my guess would be so that they know that those bolts have to be torqued correctly or maybe its a way they can tell @ the factory that the bolts have been torqued...

Rep Power: 0 If you are talking about the neon pinkish color it's painted like that from the factory as part of the final inspection process (I have a few family members that work at the East Liberty plant in case you wonder how I know)
