intake for seattle
I know info like this has already been posted, but I wanna know first hand. I live in seattle and I wanna buy injen's cai but with all the rain i'm a little worried about it, I was wondering if you all think I should get a cai or a sri due to the rain, Now up there we don't have a problem with flooding at all but we do get rain. And my other option is to get a bypass valve but I was also wondering the pro's and con's with that. Is there anyone from Seattle that has a cai on there car who have had problems with the rain?
i live in florida and we get alot of rain here to not as much as you though. but anyway you should be fine with cai but just make sure it oiled real good cause that will keep water that splashes out of it as long as you dont drive through any deep puddles.the bypass valve does work but only if you submerge the whole filter. or you can just get an sri !

cost more money than its really worth. IMO.
works only when filter is fully submerged, so if enough water splash on ur filter, but the filter isn't fully submerged in water, water may still be sucked up in the throttle body, causing hydrolock.
oiling the filter is a good idea, never relaly thought of that. doesn't work 100%, but its better than nothing.
you can try and get the K&N plastic bag thing they have for their CAI... I duno, search on K&N's site, they got this neat bag that covers their filter that prevents water from coming in contact with the filter, while not restricting too much airflow... dont ask me about the bag, as I dont have one.
but it comes with their typhoon CAI system.
