the hub caps can't weigh more than a couple pounds, but the wheels themselves.....
oh, and hiwind, they call them rims, too, they're just made of steel. hence the name steel rims.

The 2001 and 2002 EX's, LX's and DX's all have steel rims with hubcaps, I don't know the weight, but I am thinking its around 25 pounds each....just a guess though.
Sorry, for the confusion....
I can a Civic Si (Ex in US). It came with 15" alloy rims.
I was just looking at rims and didn't want to go with a very heavy rim.
I'd like to stay within the same weight.
Check out my ride, those babies are not hub caps...My Ride

more important than the weight of aftermarket wheels vs stock ones is the diameter. 15" = spin faster = better acceleration than 17" large wheels (which are usually heavy too).
I'm just asking because I'd like to get some new tires and and rims. Either 16" or 17", but I don't want the combination to be more that what I already have.
I heard you should try to keep the weight the same, or as close as possible.
Whats a good combination on 17" (measurements)

My stock 14 inch steelies weigh 33lbs each with tires.

it really depends on 17X7 or 17X7.5Quote

for X7 i would go with 205/40 or 210/45
for X7.5 I would go with 215/40 or 220/45

That depends on the size of the wheel and tire as a whole though Quote

xian, you somehow got the American Civic SI rims, your gonna have to ask someone with an American SI to weigh them.

EDIT: Yes, I know someone already said the same thing, but there's no more delete button.

12.5lb 17's...kinda pricey though...
Don't get 17s if you want to keep your speed. Get 16s. Anything 17 and up is gonna cost you some performance. 16s are pretty moderate.
Rim size doesnt matter, overall circumference (or radius, however you wanna look at it) matters, but that stays constant with rim upgrades. In the event that it doesn't, you need a new speedometer gear. Anyway, it's the combination of overall circumference and weight that determines whether it's a step up or a step down for performance. in fact, you could do a formula to determine it, fairly easily too. Basically, if the tire overall circumference stays the same, then its a matter of weight. bigger rims naturally weigh more, which is why you suffer a performance decrease.

It's not a huge shock or anything. I mean, Canadian Civic Si's (EX), have come with those rims since 2001. and the SiRs have them too. Quote

I know they're really heavy. my 17s are most definatly lighter (Racing Hart CP10s).
i don't know exactly what is the weight of the rims but i got a 15" Rota Slipstream, the rim weight 12 lbs. i used my hand and lift my 01 civic ex stock rim and tire, the stock rim and tire is more heavy than the 15" rota with tire. later on i sold my rota rims with tires, shipped by ups each rim and tires weight more than 30 lbs!!!
LOL.. whoever wrote those tuire sizes was DRUNK.. 205-40-17 or 210? .... 215-40-17 or 220??? WTF?>
