Whats the warrenty on our cars paint job?

there might be a warranty... I have a five year warranty on my paint job, but I also got the undercoat and top coat for the extra 200-300

you can try talking to your dealer about it. there's no harm trying. with your problem, they might consider your issue with the paint. good luck.

actually you have a 3 year factory warranty on the paint

I just talked to a guy I know that works in the Service Dept at my dealer. He said that there is at least a 3year warranty on the paint. Actually some areas have a longer warranty then others due to the climate, like mine is a standard 5yrs in Chicago. So check with the dealer, but it is warrantied to a point.

does the warranty cover against big *** key scratches by jackasses?

No, factory warranty on paint only covers paint blemishes and chips due to bad worksmanship. You're out of luck with dents and scratches.

The paint warranty is somewhere within the rust warranty. It has to be a problem with the way it was put on, not chips from the road or key marks, etc.... In other words, the paint has to be peeling off or cracking or something on its own.
