Just when I got home last night the empty light came on so this morning I went to fill up on gas but about half way there (about 2-3 miles) the light went off again. Should I be tripping?

Nah, but your sensor is. The same thing happened to me the other night, and it's no big deal. Just means that when you got home you probably set the sensor off somehow (driving up a hill, down a hill, parking on a hill, parking on a slope etc) and when you went driving this morning, the car realized that it didn't "need" gas just yet.

mine does that all the time. no worries.
if your low on gas, it even does it sometimes if u accerate hard, the light will come. then off when i just start crusing.

Yeah, I've had that happen once or twice also. Just remember to fill up before TOO long and you'll be fine.

ah until you see the needle under the "e" line then dont worry about nothing that light is just there to make sure you keep your eye on the gauge heheh ........every once in a while the car does some type of jerkin or hessitation that is when you know your too brave but my car never gets half a tank fullings .......always a full tank so it always is happy with me in the end.

i believe the gas sensor possition is in the front of the tank. that would explain why when im parked on a decline the gas seems higher.
