Any honda tecks for knowledgeable people help
I got a socket stuck in that bronze metal sleeve around the spark plugs and can't get it out. Refer to my gen ramb thread "I am screwed" I was just wondering if anyoone knew how that sleeve is attached to the head. I am just hoping it can be replaced without removing the thread. If anyone can tell me how it attaches, that would be great. Thanks a ton.

best way to fix this is to take the valve cover, then take the sleeve out( it jus unscrews ) pop ur socket out n if the sleeve isnt damaged then jus put it bak on, otherwise order a new one!!!

Does anyone know where to get the sleeve. I couldn't find it on hondaautomotiveparts.com so if anyone could go there and find it, I would greatly appreciate it because I am not sure where to look. Thanks
the socket is stuck to the spark plug spark plug sokets have a rubber piece in them that holds on to the spark plug so unscrew the spark plug and the soket should come out with the spark plug attached remove plug from socket remove rubber piece with a screw driver carefully don't want to poke yourself
now with the rubber removed drop the spark plug in tube thread side down attach socket to an extention put in tube and tighten plug to remove next plug insert rubber back into socket put socket on the plug yuo want to remove and repeat the prodedure again
hope this helps

What did I just say? THE SLEEVE IS BENT. The socket is not stuck because it is stuck to the plug. It is stuck because it was too thick for the sleeve! Now I need to know where to get a new sleeve. Thanks to whoever can help.

you can still get the socket out of the sleeve regardless of whether it's bent or not if you really don't want to replace the sleeve and it's not bent so bad as you won't be able to get your new plug in there.....I assume you've already taken the valve cover off??
if you haven't then do this....get a large flatblade screwdriver...use lots of light...go to the bent side and use some force and a hammer if needed to get the bend out as much as possible and then take the screwdriver and put it in the socket extension hole and twist....keep twisting and while the twisint pressure is exerted make a pulling motion....after a long enough time you will effectively have unscrewed the socket....I've done this with a few hemi's in the past...pain the *** but it works...just patience grasshopper....
if you've already taken the valve cover off...then it's easier to fix....just put the cover in a vise with the sleeve still in it and braced. take a long skinny screwdriver and put it in the underside way of the valve cover (so it's going in the opposite way to the sleeve) and use a hammer to back that ho outta there...then do your best to massage the sleeve into shape and try to get a thinner socket that will work with your newly massaged sleeve...
if this doesn't work then start scouring eBay, the junkyards, or the honda dealer for another sleeve after you pry it from the head and extradite your socket....
