Shift light for tachs
I tried searching but nothing came up. Would it be possible to by just the amber light (usually bought with aftermarket tach) which lights up when you want to shift without using the new tach? I allready have a tach (ex) and just want the light. Or do you need the tach to pinpoint the time the light goes on? Thanks

These "pills" go into the shift light. What about the "dial in accuracy" of auto-meter for example
I'm asking because i saw this setup on a old mustang one time and it seemed logical

so wait, a shift light can work independantly of an after market tach?
I thought that the 'pill' was actually inside the tach, and it just turned on the light?
Where can I read more/get one? I don't want an after market tach, but a shift light would be sweet...

Second site that came up with keywords "shift" and "lights" when searching Google.com was: Programmable Shift Lights
Go to Autometer.com. They have stand-alone Shift Lights available. Pill kits are available in 200 RPM increments.
I installed mine this weekend and it works great. Blinds me at night but is definitely a nice safety precaution to keep me out of the RED zone...
Relatively easy installation as well.

Well, for us it doesn't really matter since we have the rev limiter. We could use it if we have a reprogrammed ECU (ECM) with the rev limiter removed though. Plus it is sort of easier to see the light flash than it is to look at the rpm's.
