WTB: Spring Compressor

Title says it all. Where can I buy a decent spring compressor?

And just for sh|ts and giggles, is this one ok. Anyone who DIY'ed thier springs and used a spring compressor, your input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Brian C.

i dont think that one would work on our cars.. if you goto autozone and pepboys, they'll let you rent one for free.. you just have to pay a deposit. also check the 3-4 DIYs especially the detailed DIY i made before you try it...

Are you looking to buy this instead of buying actual lowering springs? If so, I would highly recommend just saving up money and getting a real set of springs. I have heard nothing but horror stories about these things.

But if you're looking for a spring compressor to DIY install your springs, then just go borrow one from Pepe Boys or AutoZone like VNlilMAN said...

Otherwise, you will most definitely fall into the "RICE" category...

I think he is talking about the tool used to remove the springs, not trying to mickey mouse something.

I used this tool Sears Spring Compressor and it worked exactly like it should. Plus it was only 40 dollars, found it at the local Sears, and have already used to lower 3 cars. All my friends chipped in and it basically turned out to cost practically nothing.

I have heard you can rent them, but for the cost, I just bought it and have it available all the time.

You can just rent one at your local AutoZone...if there's no AutoZone where you live, then you're SOL and will have to buy it. And yes, the one in the link should do the trick.

Thnak you rickinthescv,

This is exactly what i was looking for, but did not where to buy! I went to the Super Trak Auto (equivelant of Autozone or Pep-boys) and they didn't have it. Thanks much.

P.S. - To everybody else with helpful input, Thanks; and btw...I've already printed the DIY's.
