Engine Bog Down between 3 & 4k rpms

In 1st through 4th gear I have to shift before 3k or else some time in between 3 and 4 my car bogs down, almost like I'm stalling out or something. My check engine light is on...It's been on ever since I put the darn tranny and everything else back in. I'm almost certain I have the wiring all right and in the right spots. My problem kinda sounds like this thread but wasn't sure so I started this one...http://www.7thgencivic.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=7&threadid=49495...If anyone lives in murrieta,ca and has a 2k1+ coupe and wants to stop by dominos today between 5 and 11pm I'll be there...maybe I can figure out if I crossed some wires if I saw the same engine. Thanks.

Dude, you dropped your tranny? Why on Earth? I'm sure if you call the dealer they will be more than happy to photocopy the wiring diagram for you.

If you're experiencing the same thing I experience (which is exactly like you just explained) then it's nothing. If I don't shift just right my car will bog for a moment. It's the simple fact that our cars don't have a lot of torque. That's all it is

Don't know if it's the same thing, but when I first got my 2k1 a year old a couple months ago I had a similar problem. The check engine light was on and when I got to 4k rpm's it would seem like it was going to stall. It went from feeling weird to where it wouldn't go above 4k. Later the next morning going to school it got worse(was going to go to honda after class, but never made it.) The engine started knocking. I ended up having to get a new engine. Don't know much about cars, but they said something about a bad o-ring and one of my cylinders froze up because no oil was getting in. Hope this isn't what's going on with you, but just figured I'd add my similar experience.

Silverdevil: I'm a delivery driver and my clutch was starting to slip. I had to replace it. I'll stop by Honda tomorrow and see if they'll give me a copy of that...Good Idea thanks.

nytejade: nah...it's not that...I took the car over from my girlfriends parents around 35k miles and now it's at 65...I drive it hard and I've never had this problem. I'm guessing it's just a wiring problem. Maybe I have the O2 sensor wire hooked up wrong or something.

Les: That really sucks man. I hope that's not what's going on with mine. Did yours start making any kinda grinding/knocking/rattling sound before the engine started to stall out on ya? If something like that does happen...I'll just end up getting the RSX engine! :- P

I'm going down to honda in the morning to get the wiring chart and to see how much a diagnostic would be. Maybe they'll be able to tell me if it's something else if I have the wiring right after I get the chat. Thanks for the responses.

Make sure you post back when you find out what was wrong.

Good luck.

see, i have the opposite problem. My car will bog down and run really crappy at low level rpm's. But once I get past 2200 rpm's everything is fine. Its really weird.
