wiring an LED??

Alright so I bought one of those ultra bright LED bulbs. As of now, I dont have any alarm, but since someone broke my window a week ago to steal some CD's and my suglasses (total price of stolen property on my behalf- $250), I figure I should put some sort of deterrent in the car. Anyway, the bac of the thing says I can wire it so that it comes on when the car is off. Here are my questions- There's 3 wires to be wired to specific points. A- Battery or Constant 12V, B- ground, C- A yellow wire that gets wired to the ignition. How do I go about doing this. I'm most likely going to put the LED on the trim peice in front of the guages since I already know how I can remove this and everything. Where should I wire the constant 12 V, What about for a ground? And lastly, how the hell do I wire this to the ignition?? Thanks for any input.

well... take all three wires and loom them together (just to make it easier).. and take all three and run them through the firewall. There is a hole under the steering wheel. Now... as for the red wire, that goes to the positive end of the battery...whether you want to attach it right to the battery or splice a wire.. whatever. The black (ground) follow the battery to its ground and either solder it to the frame of the car or even the negative part of the battery will do. Now.. for the yellow... all of my friends and I usually use the car's fuses for this. Find the fuse for either the radio (lil red light the flashes) or the ignition.. i dunno about the ignition.. ive never used that. And that should be all.... i've done this to quite a view cars.. that usually already have an alarm but whatever.. good luck and make sure to not fry yourself

ok toad why go under the hood just for a LED ??? thats kinda way way way to much work ... check this out do you have a aftermarket radio in the car ???? if so , look at the harness behind the radio , take the red wire off the led to the yellow wire off the radio harness, take the yellow wire and run it to red off the radio harness and black to black .. and you have wired it up , you dont need to even go outsied the car. no offense thats just dumb... if you dont have a aftermarket radio , take hte under dash off like you would to under the hood

white - 12v constant
black/yellow stripe - ignition
and ground to metal <= wires at the ignition harness ( steering column)

This is not about wiring the led but about wiring some neon lights. They all come with the cigarette adapter plug in for power. How do I take off the adapter and wire it to some part of the car so I don't have a dangling plug which doesn't look clean.

interior neon lights have a built in transformer. Just cut the plug off, separate the wires, and put the one with a white stripe on a positive wire (behind the radio, the positive wire going to the cigarette lighter, many in the car), and the one without to a ground.

Mad linkage **** - check that out, it's how to install an oem alarm, include installing an LED, in the alarm spot, might be just what you're looking for.
