The flashing is just to warn you you are aproching the 10k mantience mark... at 10k it will stay on until you take it to get its service...
Nothing to worry about.

Hey me too! I was at 8000 miles and the Maint. Req. Light came on.. So at 8500 miles i went and got an oil change, but the light is still on. I called Honda and they just told me to bring my car at 10,000 miles for a complimentary service. I asked them what they were going to do and they said a bunch of crap, it's mostly checking that your car is still holding on. Secondly, i asked how much the 10,000 miles service would cost me (the first one is free).... they said $75. All right. if you wanna reset the light this is what you do:

Have your car off, turn the key to the "ON" position, hold the odometer button for about 30 seconds. After that turn off your car. That's it...you are good to go!

I took mine in at 10k when the light went solid.. (at 15k now) and they did the check up for free...
they just checked to be sure nothing was majorly wrong. and changed all the fluids.
Cost me nothing... I would talk to them about it.. they should do it free.

the light is JUST a warning telling you to bring ur car for service.. you SHOULD take it for the 10,000 mile check. I just resetted mine because it was annoying, that's it...but i'm going to take it to the 10,000 miles service.

I have read the entire manual a few times... fun. I read a lot

RTFM If you would bother to read your manual you would know this is normal. Now read it and find out how to reset it.

The light comes on every 7500 miles. After you have service performed they just reset it for another 7500 hundred miles.
That is what the Honda service people told me.

Don't throw away your money by giving it the fu#@ing dealer! If you go to the dealer to have work done on your car, better bring some vaseline.

actually, honda reccommends you service it at 7500 miles, i got a coupon book for all of my regular scheduled services from my dealer, which is good for free servicing or a large discount off of the service price.

okay...i have 8k right now and my service light is blinking,

if I take it to honda for a "service check" and they notice that I've put an CAI, STRUT BAR and a Catback exhaust

would that void my warranty??

how does this work? I dont wanna take it to them cause they'll probably take note of my "mods"
and then blame me in the future if something goes wrong with my car.

has anyone experience this??

I wouldn't take it in. I would just reset it myself. There will just look the car over. You can do that yourself.
You just turn you key off, hold in on your trip counter button while you turn the key on. Then keep holding it till the light goes out. That should do it.
