Is it possible???
Is it possible???
I was wondering if were possible to swap the heads on a 02 LX, with an 01-02 EX? Does anybody know if it is just the head on the motor being different, or is the whole motor different? I'd guess that there is a VTEC sensor on the EX, so i'd have to tackle that issue, but is that it? if you know, tell me please!

dude if you wanna go faster in are cars the only ways 2 go is nitrous or the turbo the ex is not noticablely faster than a dx or lx the 1/4 mile are identical ITS ALL THE DRIVER save yourself a big headache and a weight reduction in your wallet
well maybe i just wanna justify putting a big VTEC sticker on my LX
i do know that the EX has a different exhaust setup, though i'm not sure that would be mandatory in the swap... seriously, i can't see how this could be SUCH a hard job... besides, for us DX/LX owners, it would be an extra 12 HP. that's way more than any intake/header/exhaust/etc. mods can do... and aside from nitrous or other forced induction, a decent upgrade in power, IMO. plus you get slightly better gas mileage, as well.
i believe the EX and LX/DX 0-60 times are about 0.5s apart... and every little bit helps.

Swapping ehads and such for 12 HP or so..is not worth it.. for the same price, she can bore the intake and exhaust ports and get a nice street cam, headers and new clutch. That should even put her about 5-10 HP over an EX..and save some weight.

I'm with Mo on this one. Plus you would have to modify the exhaust as well. The setup is different. V-TEC is not worth the 2-3 grand you are going to spend on that job. Plus, I don't know if the pistons are any different, since the compression is higher as well. If you are going to practically take the engine apart you might as well take the whole thing out and put the CRV block in there.
d@mn... you guys bring up some really good points. i will say that i drove her lx for a while, then test drove an ex, and i could tell the difference. it just felt faster. that's what the butt dyno told me anyways. oh well. i guess we'll have to find another way to make her car go fast.
BTW, my girl said thanks. She doesn't get on the net very much, so i do most of the computer stuff.
