new idea for canging your interior lighting

i dont think i've seen this idea posted but i remember my dad telling me that when he used to style out his ride, in the 60's, they would dip all there interior lights into model paint. so my question is can we not do this to the loghting behind our dash and our insturment cluster, instead of using gels or cahngin bulbs. i have never been behind my dash or i.c. so you'll have to forgive me if this question/idea is stupid.

If only it were that simple. Unfortunatly it wouldn't work for any of the dash lights. that trick WOULD work, however, on the map lights if you wanted to change the color of those since I hear they are a pain to find.

It's gotta be done with gels if you wanna change your dash lighting...
