Zex Products???

Got a couple questions for all you techs out there about the Zex Nos system. 1. What shot should i go with a 50, 60, or 75? 2. ok, now i know that the zex system has that electronic sensor that detects the throttle body being open thus shotting the nos if the system is engaged, does the sensor time the nos in between bursts? because it would constantly feed the motor unless you disarmed it, i want one shot of NOS right in 1st gear on my AT getting me into the top end and the other in 4th giving me more top end, my question is how much time do i need between shots and if the zex is so smart shouldn't it time between bursts. Thank you for all ur help.

(yawn) okay man i am not trying to stand in your way but this topic has been touched alot and a search will most likely answer most of your nitrous questions but STUDY nitrous or you might end up killing yourself or someone else

Why would you consider a NX kit any less safe? It has a Wide Open Throttle switch and a master arm switch. Do the electronics make it safer? And if they do how so? I know theres systems out there that only let the nitrous spray during a certain RPM range.. that along with a WOT switch would probably be the safest setup.

Also, from everything I've been reading so far it's not too good of an idea to use nitrous in first gear. I'm not really sure what you mean by a timed shot.. because from everything I've seen the nitrou system just sprays when all your conditions are met(ie. WOT, or possibly WOT and certain RPM range)

zex will not work on our cars. besides, it just does not yield the results nx kits do. zex computerized? have you ever seen the inside of the zex purple box? there's nothing computerized about it.

ok....i know the systems aren't different i realize that duh...i know that zex and NX are the same exact thing except on has two solenoids and the other just has the box...same controlers whatever...i am talking about the engaging part...."For your performance car, Zex™ has designed the ultimate "Smart" Nitrous System. Depending on the application, the additional 55-125 horsepower it provides will have you tearing up your competition. The ZEX™ Nitrous System, using our patented technology, uses bottle pressure to regulate the nitrous to fuel ratio. This ensures the greatest level of engine safety.
Once armed, the kit is activated at wide-open throttle by an electronic sensor that "learns" the voltage curve of your TPS sensor. This design ensures your nitrous is engaged at the perfect throttle point, every time. The design of the ZEX™ Nitrous System makes it the simplest, safest, and easiest to install kit on the market."

the kit is activated.....does it deactivate automatically or do i have to disarm it my self....the wide open throttle occurs for obviously for a long time....i am wide open to 120 mph...now...my question in general does the thing send a constant flow of nos or does it shoot in bursts....

The zex kit has a soft touch switch that you put under ur gas pedal.. when u floor it it sprays nitrous when you left off the gas it stops. Stop even considering zex we cant use it for our car we have a returnless fuel system. This topic has be beaten todeth next time search u noob! Also the zex kit dose not provide nearly as much power as the nx, the nx has bigger solinoids which allow it to pump more nitrous in quicker. So to answer your question in a manner that is painfully obvious:

ZEX=NO
NX= YES

Pseudochrist I agree with most of your reply but when i had ZEX in my old car there was not a switch behind the gas pedal... How ZEX know when it's it's WOT is that the ZEX box is hooked up to the fuel pressure regulator and throttle positioning sensor.... Once you floor it. the throttle position sensor know it's at WOT throttle so it activate the nitrous... If you have the switch "armed" and keep flooring it it will keep squeezing nitrous until the switch has been turned off or let off the gas some so it's not at WOT...

all that was talked about in this thread was Zex and NX...now I don't want to sound like a f&f ricer, but what about NOS? I actually have read up a lot about nitrous use, and I plan on (sometime) doing a wet kit. But what brand? From what I've researched, NOS seems to be the most reliable and with the best technology in solenoids and that sort of stuff.

I've gone through many bottles on my NX kit....just make sure you buy
a bottle heater, n2o pressure gauge and guel pressure gauge.
Keep you running on the safe side.
