StreetGlow Gold Series underbody neons installation advice/help
anyone that's undergone this installation process, any advice for a beginner? I was wondering if someone could post pics of what the mounted transformer and neons look like, and perhaps some pics of the wiring to help me along? I bought a wireless remote to use with the kit; i'll probably use the switch for headlight flashers or something. for some reason my Gold Series kit came with a SG9500S transformer instead of a SG9500L transformer

when I contacted streetglow about this they said the one I have would work fine.
so anyway, yeah. pics please
and thanks in advance

Hey Crash2002, e-mail me the clip and I will host it on my site. Then I can post a link to it here so everybody can see it.
make sure you dont hit anything with your car from now on, ie squirels, groundhogs, cat, dogs. I effed one up the other day with my neon and it virtully exploded!!! be careful now. I was going to post a pic of the ground hog with a half of neon tube stuck though it but Im sure it would be taken off immedeatly by a mod. It aint pretty, plus the light has to be sent back to streetglo.
i dunno, the gold series tubes are pretty STRONG, my front one broke when i was going out of the driveway at an angle and went off the curb a little and the weight from the car crushed it, the middle wasnt even broken just the 2 ends, i could stomp on the middle part that wasnt broken and it didnt break (i wouldnt recommend stomping on your neons though :-) lol
i mounted my box near my front right headlight. like right inside the fender. half of it you cant even see. ill get my dads digi cam when he get backs in town. leave me your email so i can send you the pics.

I went out today to get an idea of how I'd go about installing everything.. I know how to connect the wiring, but I'm confused about the mounting of the tubes and the transformer. if anyone has a Gold-Series kit please post some pics of what the mountings look like I'm not sure that the point of those self-tapping screws are. I went and got a bunch of wire ties thinking they'd work better

uhh, if you happen to try the wire tie idea (which I don't recommend), make sure they are the black ones and not the white or clear looking ones. The black ones are typically UV resistant and better suited for outdoor applications.
The reason that I am not recommending you use them for hanging your neons is that the ties lose strength when wet. The ties are typically made of nylon, which is a hydroscopic material (absorbes moisture). The wetter the tie is, the more it will stretch, the weaker it becomes. Thus concludes the lesson........
BTW, I work for the largest cable tie manufacturer in the world, so I know my cable ties.
