well i almopst did this and ****ed myself over. You can disconnect the speedometer but the millage will still be sotred in the ecu even if u disconenct the speedometer. So even if it dosent read on the odometer they can still check ur real mileage.

if your really that worried about going over in miles...get on ebay or something and find someone that is selling their gauge cluster or get on a site that will sell em and put that one in.....then when you take it back reinstall the old one!
i know how to do it but im not going to tell anyone, its illegal and your gonna have to find out how to do it on your own. its pretty simple though, all you have to do it unhook some wire in the engine bay, and it wont count miles, but your speedo wont work, and when you hook the wire back up you unhook the battery for 5-10 mins and hook it back up. then everything is cool. I dont recomment it, it makes your car run like crap, it kinda lags, and it is very very illegal

alright thanx guys i dont drive much any way i should be fine with 12k miles a year. I have a 93 Prelude Si 4ws its all show no go molded on stuff shaved stuff ect. I dont like mazdas im a honda man i like the new civics look and they are pretty quick and cant beat 130 a month and a huge drop on my insurance. I remember my friend used to disconnect that wire so i guess i can ask him about that but i probably wont be doing that anytime soon.
Could you also post the chassis and engine number here so that someone won't get screwed when he buys your backed up Civic in about 3 years
