Rep Power: 0 Chilton VS. Haynes. the better manual??
Which company has a better manual? Chilton or Haynes? This isnt for the civic mind you, im picking one up today cause i promised a friend id fix a bunch of things on his '87 s-10 blazer . on a side note, anyone know how to pop a hood if the inside release and cable snapped? I was thinking to remove the front grill and go at it that way. but anyway, anyone have experience with these manual company's??

Rep Power: 0 Chilton manuals are more for the experienced mechanic. It doesn't have very good pictures and it has more wordy descriptions. I would recommend Haynes for the weekend mechanic. It has great pictures and easy to understand text.
