custom strut bars?
If I built my one strut bars, would they do any good? Or are the ones that DC and neuspeed make "specially engineered" so that they work properly? The way I figgure, if I make them pretty strong and they are the right size, they should work. Somebody please correct me if i'm wrong before I waste my time... Thanks guys

i'm pretty sure it would work. since all a strut bar does is basically prevent the chassis ffrom flexing... if you look at factory bars like on the integ, they are basically a pipe running from one side to the other...
Here's what you need to remember...
Good strut bar has less joints and have to be of a stiff material.. that is less likely to bend
solid once piece is great.. the DC however has joints but is pretty stiff i'm assuming
yes you can make one , not build one....LOL just remember what is mentioned

Yes.....back in the days when us first 7th Civic purchasers (in 2000) bought our cars....parts were not available......so I made everything...one of which was an upper strut tower bar. You just need good tools proper metal material....T6 aluminum...SS......A36 steel painted or coated.......I would copy the designs already established...like DC. Neuspeed, OBX etc.....no need to re-invent the wheel....but just fabricate your own. My opinion, since they're a dime a dozen now..and unless your a very good machinist with the proper tools...just buy a no name off of ebay....or I have one you can buy from me I got off of ebay last year..peace!
has anyone felt a difference with ebay junk? i was told they didnt work, that a cast or forged bar offers NO structural support over machined, which are the $150 ones you see in the shop.....
so can you feel a difference with a $20 hunk of metal?

Well honestly guys Ihave used both on my car jippos and name brands. and as far as the jippos some work good and others are only ok. I bought a rear lower from car parts.com and it works good but i replaced with a DC and I am buying the upper rear eiter from dc or car parts not sure which one since no one will see it. But the DC front bar is not one I completly recomend they did a great desing as far as it fitting the car and it looks good but it is to far off top of the tower and it has a little too much up and down movment . but i dont drive that hard so it works for me. I hear the Neuspeed is kick a$$ for driving harder since it has less flex
