air ride...air bags...wut ever u wanna call them...
im thinkin bout air riding mah car...putting it on bags or wutever its called... im not too fond wit those things tho... where im from...there are alot of guys in s10s that air ride their cars and they constantly hit their switches when i roll past coz mah car's really loud... i guess that they're tryin tah impress me or sumpin....anywayz tha main reason why i wanna do this is coz this way i can raise up mah car when going across a bump or dip...see, i wanna show mah car...but then i have to drive it daily too... i cant afford, nor do i have a second car to drive around... i figure that with an air ride, i can keep mah bodykit in good condition and drive daily...
quick questions...
1. how much am i gonna spend about?
2. any problems i might come across?
3. are there preset levels i can program? so i have like one setting for show and another for driving etc that i can access with a flip of a switch...
4. how hard is it to set the car even all around?
5. problems with alignment? and will the steering wheel get all retarded, like i have to hold it slightly left to go straight or will it be cocked to one side in neutral position?
thanks u guys...

yes searching would help and going to the suspension forum would also. whosyourdaddy has written up a great FAQ about air ride...
1) between 1500-3000 depending on the setup
2) some say they leak but with proper installation i dont think it would
3) yes, they have many different type of switches, even a remote control and a playstation controller.
4) not hard at all, the gauges should tell you how much air you have in each bag
5) when you get an alignment make sure you get it at the height your most likely gunna drive on and you should be fine. because once you adjust that height, the camber will be off. just put it back to the height you got the alignment at in order to have correct camber/alignment
bags: they have different kinds. but these are what their called, bags.... just think of a balloon, it can be puntured...
rods: made of metal. more durable, ride is less forgiving since the air inside cant go anywhere, thus you get air accumulators to get a better ride. they go inside your springs...
whats better? i forgot i think it was rods in the front(due to mcpherson struts) and bags in the back...
if i got air ride i would probably get air struts in the front and rods in the back tho, mainly because of installation issues. it just seems easier to install to me.
