Hard-Wire ??? From Mega DIY

I just did the hard-wire radar detector installation from the Mega DIY thread, and i know in the instructions it says that it is a constant power source but my radar detector only comes on when I open the door and the dome light comes on. I didnt know if anyone else has had this problem or not or how I could fix it. Oh yeah I grounded it into the green wire.

skitzo is an unknown quantity at this point

YOu wired it to a switech power source. just wire it right into the acc terminal on the fuse block then it will go on and off with the ignition.
