To anyone who can help...

I just got the Magnaflow catback put on and right away heard a new grinding noise under my car when I drove off....so I took the car pack to the garage and they siad the downpipe was not designed properly, that it didn't have enough bend...they claim it's rubbing on the lower suspension bar...so they tweaked the hanger a little but it didn't help....

2 nights lateer when it was raining, OMG, the noise was heard on acceleration, right turns, braking, even idling at the lights.....so I take it in and they bend the downpipe to give it more clearance...but nope, the noise is still there and they don't know why it comes around more in the rain.....so what can I do or what is this noise from....i'm thinking of putting my stock system back on again to see if the noise goes away...

so should i do this or does anyone know what I'm talking about or have had the same problems...please let me know cause that's a lot of money I feel i've wasted...

I have the same exhaust but I don't have any problems. Did they weld it on or clamp it. If they clamped it I make sure the clamps are tight. I had mine welded on. I hope you can find out what is wrong with it because it is a nice exhaust.

are your cars 2001s?...probably...mine is a 2002...you don't think Honda would have changed something underneath the car from '01-'02 do you...cause I know the part number of the exhaust listed 2001 Civic...

It is possible it is your heat shield. You would have to find out if they removed it. If not it is very possible that's what it is. BUT, not being able to hear it i can't tell you for sure. Take it back and make them fix it or give you back your money. No the 2k2 is not different. There were a cople things that changed most of which were things for looks.

hahahahahaha...it's all fixed now...it was the downpipe attached to the manifold...needed a little modding...i.e. bending, hahaha...so no more grinding....what a relief....
