The top gasket is metal.....so that shouldn't be a problem...I just installed my HP header with 24,000 miles on my car and no problems......and the same goes for the lower donut sealer at the bottom..........so here are the simple quesitons first:
1. Did you put both gaskets on?
2. On the lower did you put the donutsealer on the DC header first then bolt it on
3. Did you tighten all nuts good???..tighten in a sequence center to outward..ten re-check after you drive a while
4. did you reinstall the bolts that hold on the heat shied...that give added securement as well???
that is all I can think of that might be your problem...good luck !!

I would agree ALLMAN. You would be suprised what can happen if you tighten the bolts in an improper pattern, kinda like putting on your wheels, fastening and torquing them in the wrong pattern.
you definitely forgot to put the lil round gasket on from the lower end of your header, that's why it sounds like that. if it was a leak, it would have sounded like that before. common mistake, you'll be alright and soon happy with your header
