Rep Power: 0 2004 Civic Coupe Gauge Cluster
I bought an 04 civic coupe from a used car dealer and less than 24 hours later the gauge cluster stopped working (all the gauges went to zero, the battery and brake system lights came on).
I'm really annoyed and don't have a lot of money to fix it since I just bought the car. Does anyone know what the problem might be? I've been reading online and it says it might be a poor ground connection but I don't know where the ground on the gauge cluster goes to in order to check it.
It seems to be an intermittent electrical problem. My dad got it working again by disconnecting the battery, and he checked all the pins and changed two fuses. I'm scared that it might happen sometime when I'm on a roadtrip or out of town and he won't be there to look at it and I won't have a spedometer.
Any help would be greatly greatly appreciated.

I'd take it back and have them look at it. Even used cars purchased from dealers have some type of warranty. You should check around here, or Google for the wiring diagram for your car if you're gonna tackle it yourself.

You run the same risk in a private used sale as well. Being well educated makes the buying process easier and could save you some $ down the road.
