Footwell lights

Re: Footwell lights
It seems to be that way since once you close the switch, the door light comes open, and you seem to have it hooked up with the dome lights. I could be wrong though. I took an electricity course and I should know this.

Damn. I wouldn't wanna give you the wrong info. I'd wait around for some of the more tech savvy folks to help you out.

Re: Footwell lights
The "multiplex control unit" signal is the door open signal. So yes this would work, BUT hooked up in the position shown, your new light would also be affected by the ceiling light switch, so it would exactly follow the ceiling light. I would personally instead hookup the new light DIRECTLY to the multiplex control unit signal, bypassing the ceiling switch, but that's just me. Am sitting inside the car, I just want to turn on the ceiling light to read the map, I don't want the well light to come on with that.
U may want to add a new switch in series with it, so say some day you are doing a long maintenance with the doors open and u don't want to drain the battery. One switch should control both well lights for convenience.
While you are at it, put some doors' lights. I REALLY miss my toyota GT, it was a 20 years old car, but had all the amenities: door lights, padded/carpeted doors. The headlights would turn off automatically if I forget to turn them off... Dang Civic just beeps me! Am going backwards!

And if i was doing maintenance with door open, the ceiling light would be on the off position most likely
Anyone have any idea where I can get access to the light blue wire?

You can tap into the wiring going to your lighted ignition cylinder. It can be used as a source to drive some leds ( on my 05 I drove 8 leds and a #2825 bulb to illuminate the rear without any issues for 5 years)
Here is a thread with the wire color info.

I have 18 led for footwell, right now their connected to the multiplex control unit.
I might try hooking it up to the dome light some other time, I'm sure I am going to need a relay for the dome light setup ( I need help on this part =/)
