2001 Honda civc new head gasket valves seem loud?

Its a 2001 honda civic LX I put a new head gasket and had the head planned. I adjusted the valves and I went 0.008 for the intake and a 10 for the exhaust. and I put back 5w20 oil. but the valves seem lound to me more than before and before does it hurt anything? I always used 5w30 I could use any help I can Thanks

Loose is better than tight when it comes to valves but I would go throught them again. If they are noticeably loud. I just did mine on my B16 it was .006-.007 intake and .007-.008 exaust. Better to double check and readjust. If you have never adjusted valves or used a feeler guage before then get someone to help you. You need to get it them tight enough to where they just start to pull on the feeler guage. If you can remove the guage without resistance then they are too loose. Does that make sense?

Did you do the valve adjustment correctly. Meaning started with cylinder 1 at TDC then rotate the crank 180 degrees and then cylinder 3 at TDC, rotate the crank 180 degrees and then cylinder 4 at TDC, rotate the crank again 180 degrees and finally cylinder 2 at TDC.

I understand the feeler with the slight drag. but when it says .006 .008 is it better to do it at .006 or where? I did do the 1 at TDC then rotate the crank 180 degrees and then cylinder 3 at TDC, rotate the crank 180 degrees and then cylinder 4 at TDC, rotate the crank again 180 degrees and finally cylinder 2 at TDC. tonight I will recheck them. thanks for helping
