My civic hood is stuck closed and I can't figure out how to open it. The lever is broken but when I pull on the wire it is still connected to the latch and after I took off the splash guard underneath I could see the latch move when the wire was pulled. It moves until it clicks - which I am assuming means the lever hits the metal and should release the spring loaded part that catches and holds the metal loop on the hood down. But it doesn't release. Not with someone jiggling it up and down. Not with the fonz fist hit over the latch. Not with anything so far. I don't know what is going on in there. I have no idea what to do. It was kind of a pain before but I lubed it up real good and it was ok. I forgot to open it over the winter and now - stuck stuck stuck and stuck some more. Help!
